How To Install A Mattress Protector

You are ready to protect your bed, but first, how do you get the thing on?

Before You Begin

Measure Twice

Always measure the depth of your mattress before selecting an encasement to ensure the proper fit when you get it home.

Clean & Dry

Ensure your mattress is clean and dry before installation. A quick vacuum will help to reduce allergens.

Four hands are better than two! We recommend two people for all mattress encasement installations.

Mattress Protector Installation

Step 1

Remove all bedding from your mattress including any mattress pads.

Step 2

With two people, stand the mattress up vertically and lean it against a wall for extra stability.

Step 3

Align the corners of the mattress encasement with the top corners of the mattress.

Check that all seams are aligned and then pull both sides down slowly and evenly.

Step 4

Carefully return the covered mattress to the base.

Adjust the mattress encasement as needed to align the corners to your mattress for the best fit.

Zip the cover closed to complete.

Complete Your Protection Collection

Did you know ...

Household allergens like dust mites, mold, and pet dander collect inside your mattress and pillow?

Consider adding a layer of protection that fully encases your pillow, providing protection from the allergens, oils and perspiration that collect there, while preventing new contaminates from entering.

How To Wash A Mattress Protector

Always check the package or product label to confirm the recommended water temperature, dryer cycle and if there are any special instructions.

Choose a mild laundry detergent without built in softeners for best results.

Use the delicate or gentle cycle on your washing machine to reduce wear and tear.

Running an extra rinse cycle can help ensure that no detergent is left behind to potentially irritate you skin.

Make sure that your mattress cover is completely dry before returning it to your mattress

How Often To Wash A Mattress Protector

A general guideline is to wash your mattress cover every 2 to 3 months.

Allergy sufferers and those with pets may want to consider cleaning their mattress protector up to twice a month.

Spills, crumbs and other accidents should be cleaned immediately upon discovery.

If you have just recovered from an illness, it is best to wash all of your bedding, including your mattress protector, as soon as you are feeling well.

For those living in hot or humid climates, or if you are just a hot sleeper, more frequent washings are suggested.
